Chi Rho
(6th – 8th Graders)
New Sunday School Class
Just For YOU!

CHI RHO logoOur Chi Rho group now includes 6th – 8th grades.  Chi Rho will continue to meet Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m. throughout the school year.

Chi Rho is growing so much that we have set up a new Sunday School class just for you!  We’ll be meeting in the Chi Rho room every Sunday at 9:30 to learn more about our Christian faith and how to apply it to life.

If you haven’t been in the habit of coming to Sunday School, this is a great time to start the year right!  There is so much to learn about God’s world and how we can best relate to it.  Bring your friends!

Our middle school youth group which is called “Chi Rho” (pronounced Ki - Ro coming from the first two letters in the Greek word for Christ) is dedicated to having fun in the name of Christ.  They meet Sunday nights for fellowship, games, and learning about how our Christian faith is part of our daily life.  Chi Rho-ers also participate in outside activities, summer Chi Rho camp and service projects.

Chi Rho youth are followers of Christ.  The Chi Rho work in team leadership with their adult leaders to plan, organize, and implement the activities for their own group.  They are more active in deciding what they do as a youth group.  They also meet once a week for Bible study, devotions, games, and activities.

CYF
(9th – 12th Graders)

CYF, our high school group (9th 12th grade), meets on Sunday evenings at 7:30 throughout the school year.

CYF stands for Christian Youth Fellowship.  Our senior high school youth group meets for fun activities, spiritual growth, and building friendships.  Outings such as theme parks, professional sports, skating, mission trips, swimming, bowling, summer camp, and more are also a part of CYF.

In addition to most of the activities that are available to Chi Rho, CYF youth go to “Mid Winter” which is a weekend regional camp event at our retreat center called Tall Oaks, as well as having an opportunity to go to experience a college campus in February.

Research has shown that youth are more likely to grow up healthy when they spend more hours per week in activities in a religious institution.  Religious institutions help young people develop in healthy ways in at least three areas:

bullet

they reduce risky behaviors,

bullet

they help build a values and faith base, and

bullet they expose young people to a more diverse group of people.

Our youth and children's fellowship programming:

bullet

is structured to encourage leadership with the youth so they feel wanted and needed as a vital part of our community,

bullet

is where adult team leaders work closely on tasks with the children and youth to encourage meaningful relationships,

bullet

is a place where adults and children alike challenge each other in their faith,

bullet

is a place where youth and children are valued, and

bullet is where youth and children can know someone is really listening.
