Pictured below are the stained glass windows that have been used as the basis for a recent series of sermons.  The latest segments appear at the top (listed in reverse order) so that you can check back periodically for the updates of future additions.

Our sanctuary windows are made of faceted glass with designs that were carefully chosen to express the ministries of the church symbols.  The empty cross signifying the risen Christ is the central theme of each window.  The overall theme of ministry is portrayed in God’s presence with us in the baptistery window and flows out through us in world mission.  As our eyes move from the chancel window right and left around the room and through the narthex door we see in symbols the work of the church.

The baptistry window is divided by the cross.  On the left are the symbols of God’s action in our life.  From the top, one views the descending hand of God representing God as creator of all life.  The descending dove represents God’s Holy Spirit which sustains us.  At the bottom is the lamb carrying a banner of victory representing Christ’s victory over death.  To the viewer’s right is a cross arising out of the water signifying Christian baptism and above it is a butterfly representing the resurrection to new life.  In the center is the chalice of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to remind us that communion is the focal point of Christian worship.
