Outreach and Community

H.O.M.e Ministries

H.O.M.e Ministries is now a permanent part of your church local outreach, if you need help with minor repairs at home, electrical, plumbing, carpenter, painting, or lawn work we can help.  Home Ministries is available to any member of Raymore Christian Church and the Belton/Raymore community.  There is no charge for our services, but we do accept love offerings which go to continue our ministries to those who are less fortunate.

If you know of someone that needs assistance with any home repair issues let us know.  We have the manpower and abilities to take care of most of your home repair or lawn care needs.

Winter is just around the corner so weather proofing of homes in need will start in early October.

In November we again hope to have a Week of Local Missions.  When those opportunities have been approved by Outreach Ministries, sign-up lists will be available for anyone interested in helping.  If you have an organization that you would like to have considered, please notify Outreach Ministries so we have the time to qualify your suggestions.  Last year during our Week of Local Missions, we supplied manpower and supplies for work done at Hope Haven, Cass County Opportunity Center, Stafford, Operation Breakthrough, Harvesters, Together Center, as well as several local homes.

The steps are simple.  If you need assistance fill out the request form that is available on the table in the Narthex.  Turn it into the church office or give it to Kathy, our church secretary.  Or you can call her and she will make sure that we get your information and get in contact with you.

We at H.O.M.e Ministries appreciate you past support and look forward to the opportunities of continuing to serve Raymore Christian Church and the Belton/Raymore area for years to come.

Our church reaches out into the world through our gifts to Disciples Mission Fund.  Together with other Disciples churches around the world, we pool our money to support ministries both at home and abroad.  These gifts support our overseas missionaries through the Department of Overseas Ministries.  The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) supports missions in Latin America, Asia, Africa, Europe and Australia.  Our Greater Kansas City region sponsors mission partners in Haiti and Venezuela.

Disciples Mission Fund gifts also support our ministries in North America, including programs for local churches such as congregational growth and stewardship, resources for men’s and women’s fellowship groups and assistance with children and youth ministries.  We also support higher education at Disciples-related colleges, universities and seminaries.

Our congregation is one of 80 churches in the Greater Kansas City Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Part of our Disciples Mission Fund dollars support our regional ministries including inner-city mission projects like the DREAM Center and the Together Center.  We also support local church programs including ministerial relocation, crisis intervention and pastoral care for clergy.

The Greater Kansas City region also operates Tall Oaks Camp and Conference Center in Linwood, Kansas.  Summer camps for children and youth (K-12), 20-something (young adults), and Grandparents Camp are offered along with year-round retreats.
