On Sunday we joined Jesus in stepping through the waters of baptism. We recalled how this was just the beginning as his ministry was soon to take shape before he ever dried off. Ministry is what is next for us as well. As we choose to walk in the newness of life, we commit ourselves to being a living and active presence of Jesus’ love in the world. Our new leaders have been called by God and commissioned by our congregation and are setting into motion plans for the 2011 year. On Saturday January 29th we will take part in our all church planning meeting. We will build our excitement about our action statement to “Feed God’s People.” Each ministry team and committee will formulate a plan for the year for how their ministry will feed the mind, body, and spirit of those in our care. If you have not selected a ministry or committee for which you would like to serve this year, the planning meeting will be a great opportunity to hear the hopes, dreams, and excitement already generating about the ministry that awaits us in 2011. Our purpose as a congregation is to do ministry! That will continue to be the focus and purpose for Raymore Christian Church. God has called us and we will respond by feeding God’s people! Brett |
